Everyone is invited to come celebrate the Maxwell School’s history and spirit during two 90th-anniversary events, spread across two days (October 9 and 10) and throughout the Maxwell complex. It’s Orange Central weekend, and we hope alumni and other visitors will join Maxwell’s students, staff, and faculty in the fun.
On Thursday, 2-4 p.m., and Friday, 1-3 p.m., all are invited to complete their “Passport to our Past.” Grab a custom “passport” and then visit each of Maxwell’s 20-plus departments, centers, and institutes. Passports are available at any of the stops on the tour and will guide you to stations throughout the buildings, each showcasing the history and expertise of an individual academic or research unit. Then redeem your stamped passports for special souvenirs at the Maxwell Dean’s Office station, located outside of 200 Eggers Hall. The more stops you visit, the more souvenirs you can collect, and those who visit the most stops will be entered to win a grand prize!
Also, the entire SU community and all visitors should join us for a 90th anniversary party on Thursday, October 9, 4-6 p.m., in the Joseph A. Strasser Commons. In a setting themed to match our founding year — 1924 — enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a slice of signature cake during a grand celebration of our storied history.
